What is Evree?
Evree is an easy-to-use financial app that connects to your bank account and helps you save money for the things that matter to you. We employ many of the same behavioural science tactics other companies use to part you with your cash — but we do it to help you make smarter financial decisions.
How does Evree help me save money?
Evree helps give your money purpose. Once you’ve set a goal with Evree, we nudge you to take action and coach you to stay on track through daily challenges, round-up rules, exclusive deals and personalized content and notifications. Evree doesn’t just do the saving for you — we help you build better money habits.
What should I use Evree to save for?
That’s up to you! Dream vacation? Underwater wedding? Baby llama? Whether you’re saving for a big trip, building an emergency fund or paying down your credit card, Evree can help you get there.
Is Evree a bank?
Evree is not a bank. We connect to the banking services you already have and help you save for the things that matter to you. When you connect a savings account to Evree, it only shares the account balance with us so we can help keep you on track, remind you when it’s time to make transfers and encourage you to do better. That’s it. Your money and personal information remain safe and secure with your financial institution.
How much does it cost?
Our service is 100% FREE to use. There are no fees to use Evree. We make our money from businesses who want to help you achieve your goals. That allows us to provide this service to you without charge.
Can I use Evree right now?
We have just launched our Beta app and we’re accepting applications for testers. We’ll be adding new users gradually over the next several months. If you’ve joined our Beta waitlist, you’ll receive an email from us when we’re ready to set up your account.
Is Evree in the app store?
Not yet, but soon. Evree is currently available as a progressive web app (PWA), which means you can use our service on any mobile device or desktop. We have designed Evree this way to ensure our platform is available on as many web-enabled devices as possible.
Can I use Evree on my tablet or mobile device?
Of course you can! Our progressive web app was designed to perform quickly and reliably on mobile devices, but can also be accessed from any desktop computer.
Can I invest my savings?
We highly recommend connecting a savings account for the best Evree experience. We’re working with a number of partners to introduce financial products that can help you save for longer-term goals — like retirement — which would benefit from investment management. Stay tuned.
What banking services do you support?
Evree is able to seamlessly integrate with most Canadian chequing or savings accounts. Here’s a full list of the financial institutions we support:

How do I deposit and withdraw money from my account?
The same way you would move money into or out of any savings account. Whenever you want to deposit or withdraw money from one of your goals, perform the transaction through your regular online banking provider. Your Evree goal balance will reflect the transaction. Evree does not and cannot move money on your behalf.
Can I change my bank account?
Right now, Evree only works with a single bank account. If you have connected an account and wish to change it, please contact customer service at the following address:
Can I set up an automated transfer to my goal account?
Yes! We think automated transfers are a foolproof way to make saving for your goals more successful. To set up a regular transfer visit your online banking provider.
Can I initiate a bank transfer from my Evree account?
Right now, the only way to actually withdraw or move money is through your regular online banking provider. We are working with a number of banking institutions that will enable direct transfers from Evree. Stay tuned.
Is Evree available in any language other than English?
At the moment, Evree is only available to Canadian residents in English. We’ll be adding language support as we grow. À la prochaine.
What do you do with my information?
Evree takes your privacy and the security of your personal information very seriously. We have a range of measures in place to safeguard your information and prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of personal information you share with us. These include bank-level encryption methods for all communications between your device and our systems. We also only retain the data we need to help you achieve your goals. Any data we do retain are stored securely according to industry standards. We monitor our systems for unusual activity and regularly engage third parties to test our systems for vulnerabilities. We’re serious about this stuff.

Is my money safe?
Your money is safe and sound inside your CDIC-insured bank account. The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation is a federal Crown corporation that protects your deposits for up to $100,000 per insured category at your connected financial institution. Evree is not a financial institution, and does not hold or take deposits. We connect to your CDIC-insured bank account for tracking and coaching purposes only.
